Breaking Down Traditional Legal Barriers

Here are some of the ways we are breaking down traditional legal barriers:

ACCESSIBILITY

Home/Hospital Visits
We understand that it is not always easy for our clients or their family members to come to our offices. We know that it may be difficult to coordinate getting an elderly individual to leave their home or their retirement residences to sign legal documents. Accordingly, we make home and/or hospital visits to ensure that our clients are able to gain access to our legal services.

Meetings Outside Regular Business Hours
We understand that our clients may not be able to take time off work to meet with us during regular business hours. Accordingly, we are available to meet with our clients outside regular business hours during the week and on weekends.

Business Visits
We understand our clients need to keep their finger on the pulse of their business, and minimize the amount of time they spend outside their own operation. For that reason, we can attend at the place of business of our clients to assist them with a legal matter. In addition, we feel that there is no better way for us to get to know our business clients better than to see their business in action.

CLIENT-DRIVEN TECHNOLOGY
We have invested in client-driven technology which helps us keep our overhead costs down, so that we pass along our cost savings to our clients.

Online Interactive Forms
One form of client-driven technology our clients interact with are our online forms.

Harnessing Technology
Our clients never get charged for long-distance phone calls. That’s because we have invested in Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) technology that allows us to communicate with people all over Canada without ever incurring any long-distance charges. Whether our clients need us to make calls to the Niagara Region, Windsor, Vancouver, or Quebec City – we don’t get charged for long distance and neither do our clients.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
At the Law Offices of Gaetano Barrila we respect the environment. How we treat our environment today, will have an impact on the environment we leave behind for our children and our grandchildren. We are firm believers that every contribution, no matter how small, can make an impact on our environment.

Email Focused
Whenever possible we prefer to scan and email documents as opposed to faxing or mailing them.  We encourage our clients to do the same.

Paperless
We try to avoid the amount of printing we do, and we understand that our clients may feel the same way. Accordingly, aside from the traditional method of receiving a print out of a reporting letter, invoice, or correspondence our clients can choose how they wish to receive these documents – electronically via email, burned on a CD/DVD, or uploaded to their USB key.

KEEP IT SIMPLE – USE PLAIN ENGLISH
Unfortunately, when drafting certain legal documents there are certain legal terms of art that we cannot avoid. However, whenever we communicate with our clients or draft documents on their behalf, we do our best to use simple, clear, and plain English so that our clients can understand the legal documents we have prepared for their use.
